Amur tigers – Wildcats Conservation Alliance

About This Project

All sub-species of tigers are facing serious threats:
– poaching for skins and parts of their body, used in Traditionnal Medicine
– deforestation
– rarefaction of preys
– conflicts with Humans, consequences of tigers attacks on livestock
– consanguinity and diseases
There are less than 4000 of them in the wild!

Wildcats Conservation Alliance acts for their conservation across all Asia:
– antipoaching patrols and fight against illegal wildlife trade
– monitoring populations,
– training and capacity building,
– education and outreach
– conflict mitigation

These efforts are crowned with success! Thus, the Siberian tiger population has increased from 50 individuals in 1940 to 540 in 2020!
